Bloom Community® Cultural Safety Statement

Effective February 2nd, 2026

At Bloom Community®, we are committed to providing culturally safe, respectful, and inclusive psychological services for all children, young people, and their families. We recognise that culture, identity, values, beliefs, and lived experience shape the way individuals and families engage with support.

We recognise that cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients is defined by the clients and communities themselves.

We acknowledge and respect the unique perspectives and experiences of the communities we work alongside, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent individuals, and people with disability.

Our commitment to cultural safety includes

  • Honouring your family’s cultural identity, values, and practices in the way we provide services
  • Supporting children and families to feel respected, understood, and safe
  • Offering adjustments to meet cultural, linguistic, or access needs (for example, interpreters, accessible resources, or communication supports)
  • We encourage you to tell us what helps us provide care safely and appropriately for your family
  • Using neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and inclusive approaches across our services
  • Continuing to learn, reflect, and improve our practice to support health equity and cultural safety

If you would like adjustments (including an interpreter), please let us know when you enquire or at any time during services.

Feedback and concerns

We welcome feedback to help ensure our services remain culturally safe and responsive.

If at any time you feel our services are not culturally safe or inclusive for your family, we encourage you to raise this with your practitioner or the Director. You can provide feedback without fear of negative consequences, and we are committed to responding respectfully and promptly.
